Isaac Steele: Senior Software Engineer and Game Developer

About Me

I was previously a lead software engineer at Nickelodeon in Burbank on the Mobile Games Team, working on the Platform for Interactive Experiences (PIE). Before that, I A headshot photo of Isaac wearing a virtual reality headset on top of their head, prescription blue-light blocking glasses, and a black shirt. was a Scripter at Ready At Dawn Studios in Irvine, California, for The Order: 1886. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, which had an emphasis in Game Design, under the Viterbi School of Engineering. I am an Eagle Scout and have been since January 12, 2006. On the weekends, I play online games, watch Twitch streams, and (prior to the ongoing pandemic) play trombone in a church choir near USC. I usually cook a new recipe about once a month. I also attend sessions of High and Low Animated Showcase, a university-level lecture series on aesthetic theory across media, whenever possible.

I helped ship a game and have a patent! I aspire to use my experience as a software engineer to help other game developers do what they love better, faster, and easier. Accessibility is paramount. I am a generalist and can mentally map out complex systems with deep histories. I enjoy collaborating with other creatives to figure out what the best solution to a problem might be. Simple is often best, and the fastest code never runs.

I am disinterested in virtual/augmented/mixed reality, machine learning/artificial intelligence, and blockchain/web3 applications.
